India won the toss and elected to bat first. But the start was very disappointing and their first top 3 wickets lost early. Yuvraj played extremely very well and scored 67 runs which is very crucial for India. Yusuf pathan also played very well with Yuvi and scored 31 runs on 23 balls. After loosing 7 wickets india could only score 153 runs, which is not a good but we can say it a good score as India did not start well. Now the bowling side comes.

India took early wicket in the form of West Indies Captain. Irfan pathan was the man who took the wicket. But West Indies player played very well, and at last they got success to win the match.

Now India has to win all the rest two matches if they want to qualify for the semifinal.

Sri Lanka Won the match by 19 runs

Pakistan lost its fist t20 match in super 8, the match was very interesting and Sri Lanka undoubtedly did a very good job and showed good performance from both the sides. Playing first they scored 150 runs which was not a bad total to chase for Pakistan. They started good; Dilshan and Jaysurya did a very good job in the starting and played very well. But after both the wickets no other batsman could do well. Dilshan scored 46 on 39 balls and Jaisurya scored 26 on 24 balls.

From the Pakistan side, their starting was not good and two wickets fell on just 5 runs. Soib Malik and Yunis khan did a very good job and after that Misbhah played also very well but not other batsman could do well after they gone. They could only scored 131 runs on the loss of 9 wickets in 20 over.

Sri Lanka won the first super 8 match by 19 runs.

First two teams from each group will be qualify for best 8 teams and then, 4 teams will be qualify for the semifinals and then final will be held on 23rd of October 2009.

It was going to played recently but due to Mumbai attack it had to postponed.
